What is stress? 

Some balanced stress levels can be positive and help us towards achieving goals. It can also motivate us to take on a new challenge or finish an existing one. However, it becomes problematic when we are overwhelmed by it. Big life changes often contribute towards stress, even happy events like having a baby or planning a wedding. Stress can make you feel like you aren’t in control of events in your life. Health worries and work-related issues can often cause stress (NHS 2019). It can effect our personal life, work life, relationship and many other aspects of our lives. You may experience, lack of sleep, loss of appetite, Low energy, Headaches, upset stomach, including diarrhoea, nausea, tense muscles, Chest pain and rapid heartbeat, Insomnia, Loss of sexual desire and/or ability and various other.

 How can stress counselling help you? 

Counselling helps you to explore the issues around the stress. Counselling helps you to understand and identify the roots of the stress and develops strategies to manage them effectively. It also equips you with tools and techniques to manage it in everyday life. We use tools techniques from a range of therapies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
